and the bright colors that she wore

another tale to tell

her hair and her eyes as dark

as a bottomless well

and we needed so much

and people for whom it was not their business at all

could tell

“no not now, no not here, this is all so wrong somehow”

try telling fast not to be so quick

try asking two magnets to please not stick

and the bright colors that she wore

drove me over the wall and across the fields

where we kissed unashamedly

stretching out to hold on to one another

across her garden gate

her eyes were filled with something i couldn’t describe

and our bodies began to shake

those bright colors shown like gems

within that darkness of our desire

let people think whatever they choose

and have yet another tale to tell
