flippin’ out

21 Sep

discarding all responsible pleasures

thumbing our noses at proper conduct

we were not going to be held down

by any ideas, philosophy, or religion

flippin’ out

taking unscheduled cruises

and aimless trips across time and space

listening to the sound inside our heads

we didn’t care and we didn’t care that we didn’t care

so there

flippin’ out

it all seems so quaint now

all my old clothes are in museums now

most of the groovy people are dead now

now isn’t what now used to be at all now

flippin’ put

hitting the wrong keys

and memory lapses

are all that remains

of our revolution
