i’d rather be quirky

30 May

i’d rather be quirky than jerky

and i’d rather be jerky than mirky

because i quirk like a quark

sometimes right to the point

like a finger jabbing you in the chest

other times harder to identify

like a soft wind brushing your cheek

i’d rather have a dog scan than a cat scan

cat scans are prickly like a thorn bush

dog scans are a wet splosh across the face

from dog knows where

whatever works is the quirks motto

my hands are busy while my mind is still

and now i can see this poem has lost track

feeling like Pluto

both the dog and the rock formerly called

a planet
